I support the position that parents should be allowed to choose the schools for their children instead of being mandated by Zip Codes where they should go for an education. You have Parental Rights in the education of your children, and I will help you exercise these rights. The state is not the Guardian of your Children, you have the ordained responsibility of providing for your children, especially in terms of their educational needs.
Your tax dollars should educate your children at the school of your choice. My position is to allow students the privilege and the equal opportunity (as guaranteed by our Constitution) to give both students and parents (guardians) the opportunity to pursue their dreams of improving the quality of their life.
School choice is about school quality. Arkansas currently ranks low in STEM professions and graduates. The path forward for our state (and for the country) is found in innovating new scientific ideas. These goals, although ambitious, are obtainable. By allowing parents and students the opportunity to receive a robust education, we will allow us as a state to build an optimistic vision for our future.
As a proponent of educating for tomorrow’s future, the recent Covid-19 shutdowns revealed the fragile nature of the educational system and the need for improving our educational foundation. As an educator familiar with traditional and virtual education, I completely understand the need for virtual education. I have built a business around the idea of reaching out to thousands of students to support them in their educational needs.
I am an advocate of providing opportunities to people of all backgrounds. One of the defining characteristics of the American Dream is the ability to pursue your dreams without governmental interference. As a senator, I plan to continue this tradition of restoring and furthering American greatness. I plan to introduce legislation that will secure our future by helping Arkansans with their educational needs. Preserving our future requires action today.
I firmly believe that Pathway of Success for Arkansas is rooted in education. Implementing innovative pedological ideas within the classroom will allow educators to help pave the Bridge to our future. If we are to take this path forward seriously, it requires investing not only in our school’s districts but also in our teachers. These unsung heroes need better wages and support from an educational system that seeks to better the lives of our children.
Currently, The Public School Choice Law of 2017 (Ark. Code Ann. § 6-18-1901 et seq), inadequately permits students to transfer to a school of their choice ONLY IF their current school is deemed as being in distress.
I suggest that we do better for all Arkansans by allowing TRUE school choice for all. The intention of this law is to encourage
Let us unite in the spirit of unity and liberty and make the final push to envision an optimistic future for Arkansans. By supporting our educational needs and allowing students, (and parents), the opportunity to take ownership of their future by allowing them to pursue the school of their choice we will be able to foster a culture of renewed interest in education.
